ABOUT ME
I'm a Canadian singer-songwriter & a founding member of the James Barker Band. As a band, we have won 7 CCMA (Canadian Country Music Awards) including Group of the Year and Fans Choice in 2023 AND 2024, as well as 2 Juno Awards, and many others.
As a solo musician, I play guitar (acoustic & electric), piano, and sing - as well as sing background vocals on all of my projects. I've been playing music for as long as I can remember, and it is a part of EVERY single day of my life. I love every facet of it - including writing amazing songs, producing them, and helping people bring their stories and memories to the masses. This is the best job in the world!

I’ve spent the last 15+ years in state-of-the-art recording studios all over the world, including being a studio manager for over 10+ years. I’ve worked with the best gear, some of the best musicians on the planet, and have all of the necessary tools (and know-how) to take your song from the ‘demo’ stage to radio ready! From a voice-note idea to a master recording ready for the airwaves, I can make it sound exactly how you want it to!

I have toured all over the world for 10+ years and played on stages for crowds from 50 people to 50,000! I play the piano, guitar, and sing (lead & background vocals), and am able to fit into the needs of almost every project you can think of. Whether it’s acoustic rhythm guitar on a country song, 3-part background harmonies on a rock track, or tasteful piano that glues your song together, I’m your guy to do it all!
